Providence Forge Volunteer Fire Rescue falls under the New Kent Fire Department and is listed as Station #1. Our station houses a number of response vehicles that respond to all types of emergencies. These vehicles are only a fraction of what New Kent County has in it’s arsenal when it comes to emergency response. Station #1 houses over 10 different vehicles. Among the assigned are 3 Fire Trucks (the Quint, Engine, and Brush Truck), 2 Ambulances, 2 response SUV’s (ALS Response Unit and Captain’s Response vehicle), a Utility Pickup Truck, and 2 response cars for various assignments. In addition the station has several trailers housing equipment needed for specific emergencies such as Mass Casualty Incidents (MCI). Station 1 also houses the Mobile Police Response Unit for the New Kent Sheriffs department for when the police officers have need to staff it. These vehicle are maintained to be ready to respond at any moment.
